Yet another race — the inaugural Catalina Island Eco-Marathon, will be held on November 17th this year, put on by the same folks who organize the Avalon 50.
I have the PCTrails Santa Monica 50K as being on the same day, but can’t find the info on their website anymore.

Couple more AR’s to watch…
Lots of competitors will be adventure racing this weekend.

Spanish Expedition Race Begins Tomorrow
The Bimbache Extrem, a 450K expedition adventure race taking place near the city of Cordoba will start tomorrow. Winners are expected to finish in about 60-70 hours, with the slower teams taking as much as 100+. My friend Bernice Pierson is the captain of Feed the Machine, the only US team represented in this race.

Why do these guys continue to operate? I’ve yet to hear anything positive about their races.Report Finds 2006 L.A.
